from one of our destroyers, the commander of which had not been
informed that our men were operating outside our own lines....
The Regiment's casualties during the afternoon were heavy, amounting
to 23 killed and 79 wounded.' (Wilson p19). Name commemorated
on the Lone Pine (Anzac), and Port Douglas, Queensland, memorials.
